Tarek Zaïgouche self portrait in black and white with a Leica M camera

Street and Documentary Photographer based in Nice, France

Tarek Zaïgouche, born 1985, Batna, Algeria, is a street photographer based in Nice, France. Working in the tradition of humanist documentary photography, influenced by Alex Webb, Garry Winogrand, and Harry Gruyaert. He pursues layered colour compositions and decisive moments across Europe, North Africa, India, the Americas, and the Caribbean.

His work explores the tension between tradition and modernity, the spectacle of public life, and the quiet poetry of ordinary moments. He seeks to see the world with a child's eye, open, curious, and always ready to be surprised.

Tarek shoots on Leica, valuing discretion and presence over intrusion. He photographs the street almost every day, finding his subjects not in the extraordinary, but in the infinite photographic opportunities hidden in the banality of everyday life.
