Under the Flag
France, 2017–2025.
Flags concentrate emotion. They appear at moments of collective joy, grief, protest, and pride. The street, in those moments, becomes something else entirely. This series documents the human body under the flag across more than eight years: World Cup celebrations in Nice, demonstrations in Marseille, Bastille Day, and the ordinary days in between when allegiance hangs in the air even without a reason. The work is less about national identity than about what people become when they stand together.
