Divine Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe, French Caribbean, December 2019.

Guadeloupe is French in name but Caribbean at heart, a layering of cultures, colours, and histories that reveals itself best at street level. I spent a couple of weeks on the island in December 2019, photographing markets, roads, and the unhurried movement of everyday life. The word "divine" in the title is deliberate: the series is an act of gratitude for a place that gave itself generously to the camera.
