A long street in El Kantara stretches toward the vanishing point in the warm light of late afternoon, the buildings on either side in the pale colours of southern Algeria, the street almost but not quite empty. Des Racines aux Étoiles documents this quietness as a form of abundance: the street that does not need to perform for anyone is the street that has arrived at itself. From the series.
